About Forward under 40

Now in its second year, the Forward under 40 award honors young UW grads who are living out the Wisconsin Idea, the principle that states that the benefits of the university should extend to the borders of the state and around the world.

All UW-Madison graduates under the age of forty are eligible for the award, and all alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the UW are encouraged to submit nominations. Recipients are selected by a committee chosen by the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA). The next nomination period will open in June 2009.

The award itself was designed by Jason Noble ’07. Made from a domed, fine silver disk set with a sterling backing, the award shows an enameled UW crest set within an image of the state of Wisconsin, superimposed over a globe.
